On This Day In LGBTQ+ History:
1937: Heinz Neddermeyer is expelled from Luxembourg.
1960: The first public meeting of the Homosexual Law Reform Society, based in the UK, is attended by more than 1,000 people.
1970: Edward Price, Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Texas rejected a request by the Gay Liberation Front to be recognized as a campus student organization.
1972: Gay protests (dancing, kissing, hand-holding) at Hilton Hotel in Denver (2-6 participants).
1972: Gay Male Liberation protests at the Massachusetts Psychological Association.
1975: California repeals its 103-year-old sodomy laws.
1982: Police once again raid The Body Politic.
1985: A gay group in Hamburg unveils a granite memorial at the site of the Neuengamme death camp.
1987: A tie vote in the Connecticut House of Representatives killed a state-wide Gay rights bill.
2009: The New York marriage bill passed the Assembly, but was later defeated in the Senate before final passage in 2011.
2013: Israel’s Supreme Court allows same-sex parental rights with a court order only, without the lengthy adoption process.
2018: Raquel Pennington faces Amanda Nunes in the first UFC event to be headlined by two openly gay fighters.
